about

When Redefine Collective set up shop in Queens, they sought to make a logo that would grow with them and set a foundation for their salon's presentation that would inform every element of their client's experience.

This logo started as an exploration of the elements they wanted to incorporate and they specifically did not want to include hair salon motifs. They wanted the logo to represent their perspective on the environment they hoped to invite their customers into.

The result is a potent combination of gothic blackletter calligraphy, inspiration from Korean Hwatu ( 화투) cards, and their peace-filled ethos as founders.

When building Redefine Collective, we wanted more than just a logo, we wanted something that represented our mindset and direction. Nick understood that immediately. He was patient, detail-oriented, and intentional throughout the process. The final design captured exactly what we stand for, and it gave us confidence moving forward as a brand.
